Mokhzani Mahathir

Dato' Mokhzani bin Tun Dr. Mahathir (born 1961, age 53) is the 2nd son of former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. The Executive Chairman of petroleum company Kencana, as well as the Chairman of the Sepang International Circuit, he at one time served as UMNO Youth treasurer. In May 2008, Mokhzani followed his father's footsteps to quit UMNO, after 22 years as a member of UMNO's Sungai Layar Hujung branch.


2.  Brief biography: Mokhzani obtained his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1987. He then began his career as a Wellsite Operations Engineer with Sarawak Shell Berhad. Mokhzani later joined Tongkah Holdings Berhad in 1989 and was appointed as the Group Managing Director. In addition, he also became the Chairman and Group CEO of Pantai Holdings Berhad. Mokhzani left both the two companies in 2001.
