Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) (People's Justice Party), often known simply as KeADILan) is a centrist political party in Malaysia, formed in 2003 by a merger of Parti Keadilan Nasional (National Justice Party) and the older Malaysian People's Party.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) promotes an agenda with a strong social justice and anti-corruption emphasis. Recently, the party adopted a platform that seeks to abolish the New Economic Policy and replace it with a policy that emphasizes a non-ethnic approach to poverty eradication and correcting economic imbalances. PKR was led by Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the wife of former Deputy Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, until the 5-year political ban imposed on the latter was lifted on 14 April 2008. more... at Chronology
