Fruit rojak is a traditional fruit and vegetable salad dish commonly found in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia (where it is called rujak). The term “rojak” is Malay for “mixture”.
3. Penang Rojak is a version of fruit rojak found in Penang, Malaysia. It uses jambu air, guava, squid fritters, as well as raw mangoes, and usually omits the bean sprouts and fried tofu puffs. The sauce or dressing used tends to be very thick, almost toffee-like in consistency and texture.

2. Ingredients: Fruit rojak typically consists of pineapple, mengkuang, cucumber, bean sprouts, taupok (puffy, deep-fried tofu) and sometimes, youtiao (cut-up Chinese-style fritters) and raw mangoes. The dressing is made up of shrimp paste (belacan), sugar, chili, and tamarind. Ingredients, however, vary among vendors. The ingredients are cut into bite-sized portions, mixed thoroughly in a bowl with the dressing, and topped with chopped peanuts before serving.
